Omega Forbes

Minister Omega Forbes, born July 29, 1975 is an anointed, well respected and dedicated man of God. He was born into a family with a love and appreciation for music; thus, Omega's passion for music began at an early age. Not only is Omega an anointed singer, but he is also an anointed lyricist and preacher, and he walks in the calling that has been placed on his life.

Omega has worked with numerous musical ministries throughout his life; those ministries include, Lamar Simmons & The Ambassadors of Christ, Tabernacle Collegiate Choir, and The Soldiers of Prophecy. On other occasions, Omega has had the opportunity to share the stage with illustrious recording artists such as: Tasha Cobbs, Hezekiah Walker, Tye Tribbett, Mali Music, Vicki Winans, James Bignam, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Marvin Sapp, Shirley Caesar, Beverly Crawford, Byron Cage, Rev. Milton Bigham and Georgia Mass Choir, Troy Sneed, The Williams Brothers, Dorothy Norwood, Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson, Donnie McClurkin and the legendary Temptations. Omega was instrumental, in the area of lyricist and is featured as a lead vocalist on the Y.F.C. (Youth for Christ); Love Comes In All Colors album, along with Kim Burrell and other gospel artist. He continues to writesongs of deliverance and many of them havereceived national exposure and were recorded by other artist such as Leoford Thomas’ “With You Always” album and Y.F.C.’s Stellar Award winning “The Struggle is Over” album. He has recorded six projects to date, You Mean So Much To Me, Lift Him Up, Due Season, Next Chapter, Christmas Is Here, and I Win. In an effort to minister to the world regardless or age, gender, denomination or ethnicity, these albums are mixed with praise and worship, contemporary, urban, traditional and inspirational gospel.

Omega has appeared on television broadcast shows such as "Your Voice” and “PowerHouse”. He has also appeared on Bobby Jones Gospel Explosion and “Just Be Real” (Gospel Lounge Artist) which aired on the Word Network. In an effort to reach out to his community, he sang for functions sponsored by the United Way, the Urban League, Big Bend Cares, Bridgeway Halfway House, Jubilee Job-Link, Martin Luther King Day Celebration, The Sickle Cell Foundation and the NAACP. He also sang for productions such as, "Grandma's Hats", “Sunday Night Live”, "Leave Wrong Alone" and others. He has also been recognized as the 1st Place winner of the North Florida Fair’s Gospel Showcase.

Minister Forbes is multifaceted in the area of singing and he is a positive force as a Praise and Worship leader. During Praise and Worship, he strives to minister in such a way as to create an atmosphere conducive for Worship. His mission is to lead people beyond the veil and into the presence of the Lord.

As a means of sharing his knowledge of music, Omega also conducts workshops. These workshops are designed with the intent of providing material and information that will enhance the Music Ministry of the respective organizations. These workshops have proven to motivate the choir, praise team and leadership in the respective music ministry to strive for the kind of excellencethat will move the music ministry into another dimension and turn their services into worship experiences.
Minister Forbes currently serves as the director of The Family & Friends Chorale; which he founded in 1999. From its inception, The Family and Friends Chorale have grown in every sense of the word and have proven to be a tremendous blessing at home and abroad. He also founded the Family & Friends Youth Choir in 2002. This was an anointed group of young people with ages ranging from three to twenty years old. The youth choir grew from twenty members to fifty members in just one short year under his leadership.

Omega currently serves as the Worship Leader at New Mt. Zion AME Church where Dr. Anton Elwood is the Senior Pastor. He is privileged to teach, direct and coordinate music for the praise team and youth choir. Omega is a praiser (such as David), but he is certainly a worshipper and is anointed to usher you right into the very presence of the Lord.

He is happily married to the love of his life, Mrs. Taneka M. Forbes (married December 11, 1999) and boldly refers to her as his; “Heaven Sent Angel” and they have a daughter, Destiny A. Forbes, and a son Omega Forbes II aka (Zoe).
